UNEP's involvement
in the 3rd World Water Forum in Japan...
"UN World Water Day 2003 Events and Activities at WWF3"
| |
|
|
| |
The goal for
World Water Day 2003 was to inspire worldwide
political and community action and encourage greater global understanding of
the need for more responsible water use and conservation.
The theme for this years World Water Day was Water for the FutureEand
promotes sustainable approaches to water use for the benefit of future
generations.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the lead UN agency for
World Water Day 2003, worked with governments and key partners worldwide to
plan events to achieve this end.
At WWF3, a number of activities, displays and events were organized to
profile and celebrate World Water Day 2003. For example, a reception,
co-hosted by UNEP and the WWF3 Secretariat was held and specially
commissioned World Water Day 2003 posters were distributed throughout the
event before and on World Water Day 2003. |
