This initial inventory of resources for IWM
covers main government and international agencies, many of which are focal
points for waste related policies and management programs and services for
individual countries or for the region. The agencies maintain their own list
of experts or consultants on the different aspects of waste management.

Description: The Department administrates and enforces the Environmental

Description: The centre works on municipal solid waste management
issues as part of its Village Technology Development Program. It runs

Description: ESCAP, a UN agency, engages in environmental control/conservation,
urban environmental management, and environmental management. It works closely
with government agencies dealing with environment and waste management services,
