Appendix 1. Relevant Legistration

A request was made for a list of all legislation including Laws, Ministerial Decrees, and other legislation affecting the use of technology in the management of lakes. Unfortunately this information was not made available to the consultants.

The legal basis for management of environmental issues related to the use of water by Krakatau Steel includes among others, the following legislation:

1. Ordinance No. 4, 1982, regarding the Primary Stipulations of Environmental Management.

2. Ordinance No. 5, 1982, regarding Industrial Activities.

3. Government Regulation No. 29, 1986, regarding Analysis concerning Environmental Impacts.

4. Government Regulation No. 20, 1990, regarding the Management and Control of Water Pollution.

5. Presidential Decree No. 53/1989 regarding Industrial Regions/Areas.

6. Circular No. SE.01/Men/1978 from the Minister of the Department of Labour, Population Resettlement, and Cooperatives regarding the Evaluation of the Threshold Limits of Noise Pollution in the Work Environment.

7. Decree from the Minister of the Department for Preservation and Conservation of the Environment: No. 49/MENKLH/6/1987 regarding Guidelines for Important Impacts.

8. Decree from the Minister of the Department for Preservation and Conservation of the Environment: No. 51/MENKLH/6/1987 regarding Guidelines for the Compilation of a Study of Evaluation regarding Environmental Impacts.
