<Sourcebook of Alternative Technologies for Freshwater Augumentation in Africa>

2. PURPOSE OF THE SOURCE BOOK

The main purpose of this book is to provide information on technologies for the augmentation of fresh water resources. It is expected to benefit especially water resources managers and planners in Africa, and enable them make informed choices, thereby optimizing the use of available freshwater resources and augmenting these resources using technologies appropriate to Africa. This book is also intended for sectoral training institutions, researchers, private developers and donors. The Source Book is intended to be part of a global source book on alternative technologies for freshwater augmentation, to be compiled by UNEP.
