<Planning and Management of Lakes and Reservoirs:
An Integrated Approach to Eutrophication
Abridged Version- A Student's Guide>
Chapter 7. MANAGEMENT ISSUES
Introduction
The management of eutrophication requires a sound administrative environment,
able to provide technical, financial, legal and human resources for the
sustainable use of lakes and reservoirs. This chapter deals with management
issues of eutrophication. Given the interrelated technical, economic,
institutional, educational and social tools discussed in the preceding chapters,
this chapter makes suggestions for administrative tools needed for a sustainable
program of eutrophication management and control. As circumstances differ from
case to case, it is not possible to provide a prescription for the management of
all situations. The chapter will illustrate management issues with selected case
studies.
