Principles of Municipal Solid Waste Management - Proceedings of a Seminar

This publication, published as IETC Report Series No. 2, is the proceedings of a pilot training seminar on Environmentally Sound Technologies (ESTs) in the field of municipal solid waste management (SWM). The seminar was held in collaboration with the City Government of Puerto Princesa, the League of Cities of the Philippines, the International Solid Waste Association, and the Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC), from 21 to 24 October 1996 in Puerto Princesa, the Philippines.

It provides an overview of SWM principles, planning SWM systems, and alternative environmentally-sound solutions for generation, storage, collection, transport, treatment and disposal of solid waste in urban centres.
