1.7.6 Wet batteries

Sound practices for dealing with wet batteries
  • Recycling in controlled environments. It is important to note that small-scale recycling is typically highly polluting and should be avoided.
  • Drainage of acid with subsequent neutralization, and melting of the metal casing in a nonferrous foundry.

Used wet batteries are generated wherever car maintenance is done. These batteries contain acids and lead, both of which are hazardous.
