Sound practices for dealing with wet batteries
- Recycling in controlled environments. It is important to note
that small-scale recycling is typically highly polluting and should be
avoided.
- Drainage of acid with subsequent neutralization, and melting
of the metal casing in a nonferrous foundry.

Used wet batteries are generated wherever car maintenance is done. These
batteries contain acids and lead, both of which are hazardous.
